Why cans? Why darkened glass? Why crown seal? Why cork? All the important life questions that keep us awake at night.

Actually, what keeps us awake at night is ensuring our hard made fresh craft beer stays as fresh as the day we packaged it for as long as damn possible.

What keeps beer fresh? No oxygen. Oxygen is the thief of fresh hop flavours and when you get a beer or a wine that has been impacted by oxidation, you will find cardboard, wet dog, lolly candy and a stale, muted profile. In craft beer, the first thing you will notice is a dullness in the bright hop sniffs we all crave.

Oxygen attacks beer at many points in the process. When we transfer, centrifuge it, dry hop it and package it. We take our packaging very seriously. The tiniest of adjustments on our canning line can mean a very significant result in the longevity of our crisp, hoppy beers (just ask Ollie. He’s got the oxygen to beer ratio down to less than 50 parts per billion parts of beer). The gold star is less than 20 parts per billion for super long shelf life, so Ollie and his little can line that could, is smashing it!
